Be your our judge! How is your skin really doing? Just touch it, is it soft and silky, does it have good tone and texture? Or your skin is rough, coarse and has poor tone? If you want to look good and feel fresh, Microdermabrasion is a great solution as a first step to rejuvenate your skin. Invented in Europe then introduced to North America, Microdermabrasion qucikly became one of the most popular medical esthetic procedures.
While simulating new collagen and growth of new skin cells, Microdermabrasion removes the outermost layer of skin made of dead skin cells and immediately restores a fresh vibrant appearance of the skin. A properly delivered Microdermabrasion has no downtime and perfectly fits your lunch break with appointments ranging from 45 - 60 minutes. Small facial wrinkles, fine lines, sun damage and age spots, skin pores all improve with Microdermabrasion. Microdermabrasion is good for your neck, décolleté and hands, and, of course, for stretch marks on the skin.
Frequently Asked Questions about Microdermabrasion
What is Microdermabrasion?
Microdermabrasion is a safe non-surgical procedure that gently exfoliates skin using specially designed hand piece that polishes skin with its smooth diamond surface. Our Clinics have state-of-the-art Gemini Microdermabrasion systems utilizing either flow of crystals or diamond-tips to restore a fresh radiant appearance of your skin.
What is it used for?
- * Skin Rejuvenation (as a stand alone procedure or a part of a COMBO Treatment):
- Dull, aging skin
- Sun damage and age spots
- Fine Lines and Wrinkles
- Improvement of skin congestion in over-production of skin oils
- Hyperpigmentation and melasma (dark skin pigmentation arising from hormonal causes)
- Large pores
- Improvement of skin tone
- Improvement of stretch marks
- Improvement of surgical scars
What does the Microdermabrasion Treatment Include?
A thorough skin preparation, cleansing, exfoliation by Microdermabrasion, and post-treatment smoothening of your skin by conditioning, application of a special mask and application of moisturizers and sun block.
During Microdermabrasion exfoliation, our Skin Care Therapist operates a hand piece. This hand piece will glide over your skin giving you a sensation similar to that when a cat licks your skin! No pain, no discomfort!
How Many Treatments will I need?
During your free consultation, our Advanced Medical Esthetician will advise you how many treatments will be needed to improve your particular skin condition. Most skin conditions improve with as little as 4-8 sessions, but sometimes you may need up to 12.
How long is each session?
With all the required steps, a Microdermabrasion for full face takes 45-60 minutes depending on your skin condition, hands – 45 minutes, décolleté – 45-60 minutes and Microdermabrasion for stretch marks takes 60-120 minutes depending on the treated area.
We cannot emphasize more that a Microdermabrasion treatment MUST be delivered correctly and safely. There is no room for cutting the corners and skipping steps of skin preparation and conditioning after the Microdermabrasion! Your skin will be fully exfoliated and MUST be properly conditioned and protected from elements. SPF is a MUST!
What are the side effects of Microdermabrasion?
Properly performed Microdermabrasion does not result in any major side effects. Your skin will feel like a mild sun burn and can be lightly pink for several hours.
Can I wear a make-up after the Microdermabrasion?
Yes, but we strongly recommend a good mineral make up which is bacteria-free, calming and UV protecting.
Lastly we advise stopping any exfoliating procedures at home at least seven days prior to your Microdermabrasion treatment at our clinic. This includes suspending creams with retinol or hydroquinone.
