Microdermabrasion Treatment
Everyone everyday can be the best judge of the appearance of the skin, especially on the face. Just touch it and check how does it feel? Is it soft and silky, has good tone and texture? Or your skin is rough, coarse and has poor tone. Look in the mirror and check if your skin looks fresh and vibrant or is lacking its radiance you still remember from your youth? If you want to Look Good and Feel Fresh, Microdermabrasion is a very good solution as a first step to rejuvenate your skin. Microdermabrasion has been invented in Europe and after being introduced to North America Microdermabrasion became one of the most popular medical esthetic procedures.
Microdermabrasion is exciting procedure that can be compared to ‘power-polish’ or ‘power-peel’. Microdermabrasion removes the outermost layer of skin made of dead skin cells and immediately restores a fresh vibrant appearance of the skin. Collagen stimulation and growth of new skin cells are benefits of Microdermabrasion. Microdermabrasion is a great procedure when delivered by our skilled Advanced Medical Aestheticians and Registered Nurses. Properly delivered Microdermabrasion session is 45-60 minute long and perfectly fits your lunch break. Microdermabrasion being extremely gentle in experienced hands of our staff gives a fresh look to your skin with absolutely no downtime. Small facial wrinkles, fine lines, sun damage and age spots, skin pores all improve with Microdermabrasion. Microdermabrasion is good for your neck, décolleté and hands, and, of course, for stretch marks on the skin.

What does the Microdermabrasion Treatment Include?
A correctly and safely performed Microdermabrasion session includes a thorough skin preparation, cleansing, exfoliation by Microdermabrasion, and post-treatment smoothening of your skin by conditioning, application of a special mask (if indicated) and application of moisturizers and sun block. All these steps are important as we care for your skin and work hard that you will have no downtime!
During Microdermabrasion exfoliation, our talented and enthusiastic Skin Care Therapist very gently and skillfully will operate a hand piece. This hand piece will glide over your skin giving you a sensation similar to that when a cat licks your skin! No pain, no discomfort! You receive lots of calming and relaxing during the entire Microdermabrasion session. Our Skin Care Therapist will educate you as to the proper skin care during the procedure and may spoil you with a great hand massage. Enjoy!
How Many Treatments do I Need?
During your free consultation, our Advanced Medical Esthetician or Cosmetic Physician, will advise you how many treatments will be needed to improve your particular skin condition. Most skin conditions improve with as little as 4-8 Microdermabrasion sessions, but sometimes you may need up to 12 sessions. Upon the completion of your treatment series, we may recommend maintenance Microdermabrasion sessions delivered in 4-8 week time intervals.
How long is each session?
With all the required steps, a Microdermabrasion for full face takes 45-60 minutes depending on your skin condition, hands – 45 minutes, décolleté – 45-60 minutes and Microdermabrasion for stretch marks takes 60-120 minutes depending on the treated area.
We cannot more emphasize that a Microdermabrasion treatment MUST be delivered correctly and safely. We follow the European recommendations for Microdermabrasion and are grateful for our trainers from Montreal who introduced Dr. Zakrzewski to the art of Microdermabrasion. There is no room for cutting the corners off and skipping steps of skin preparation and conditioning after the Microdermabrasion! Your skin is fully exfoliated and MUST be properly conditioned and protected from elements and germs which are around. As all of these important steps take time, a session of Microdermabrasion for face is 45-60 minute long. We cannot do all the important work over 10-20 minutes because the quality of our work is our pride and your safety and results are our priorities.
What are the side effects of Microdermabrasion?
Properly performed Microdermabrasion does not result in any major side effects. Your skin will feel like a mild sun burn and can be lightly pink for several hours. Please note that several years ago a different, very surgical, procedure called DERMABRASION was used and this one had lots of side effects. Microdermabrasion is a very gentle and safe procedure.
Can I wear a make-up after the Microdermabrasion?
Of course, you can wear it but this should be safe, mineral make up. Such a make up is bacteria-free, and is a good for you. In addition to a sun screen, we can apply our Jane Iredale Mineral Make up to your face. It must be stressed out that with Microdermabrasion skin rejuvenation, you must wear sun screen every day to protect your skin.
Also you have to stop any exfoliating procedures at home at least seven days prior to your Microdermabrasion treatment at our clinic. This includes suspending the application of anti-aging creams with retinol or hydroquinone (used for reduction of hyperpigmentation) for one week before your microdermabrasion session.
